We are officially in the season of renewal and we couldn’t be more excited!
After a long winter, I am sure you are ready to see longer, brighter days as we start to prepare ourselves for a sultry season ahead.
With the change in season comes a change in many other areas of our life. We switch out our heavy coats for lighter clothes, we feel more inspired to get outdoors and soak in the sunshine while taking in the fresh new life all around.
Another thing that will naturally change is your skin care ritual and in this article we wanted to share some tips to ensure your skin stays fresh and healthy as you transition into a brand new season.
Refresh your skin
One of our favorite ways to instantly refresh our skin as the temps start to heat up is with our high vibe face mist.
Yes, a mist is usually applied before a serum, such as our superfood serum, but if that’s the only time you’re using it then you are seriously missing out!
A mist can be used throughout the day, anytime your skin needs an instant boost! Yes, even over makeup! In fact, it’s great to help set your makeup for the day and add some dewiness for a healthy glow.
Keep drinking
No, not that kind of drinking!
We are talking about staying hydrated by filling up on water, but we know that plain water can get a little boring, yes we said it!
8 glasses (2 liters) of pure, filtered water a day is ideal, more if you’re in the sun or sweating.
Here are some recipes we love to instantly spruce up plain water! If you’re a lover of herbal teas then that counts towards your total water intake too!
Fill up on hydrating fruits
Another way to boost hydration is through fruits that will help to cool you down while infusing your skin cells with a dose of nutrients and water without you having to just rely on plain water.
Some of our favorite hydrating fruits include watermelon, strawberries, papaya and peaches!
You have to try this delicious and hydrating smoothie!
Don’t skip the SPF
While we recommend a high SPF year-round, it becomes that much more important when the temperatures rise and the UV rays become that much more intense.
Of course you want to slow down the signs of aging and protect your skin, but an SPF is important to protect you against skin cancer too.
We recommend opting for a mineral version rather than a chemical sunscreen, as mineral sunscreens are better for both your health and the environment.
An SPF should always be the last step in your skincare ritual, applied right over your serum or moisturizer.
With these tips, you are officially ready to step into the new season! Happy Spring!
