Sleep is one of the most important things for a healthy, happy life but the sad fact is that most people are not getting enough!
It’s not really any surprise, considering all the scrolling most of us do on a day to day basis.
Be honest.
How many nights do you find yourself scrolling through insta way past your bedtime?
Whether it’s Instagram or another app that takes your fancy, our phones have become a bit of an addiction and can throw off our entire sleep schedule.
Constantly staring at your screen can also take a toll on your mental health, which alone can massively impact your regular sleep cycle.
So we would like to encourage you to put your phone down at least an hour before bed, and use these essential oils to help you truly unwind.
Lavender
Most of us are familiar with this gorgeous lilac flower, but it’s pretty exterior packs a powerful punch in terms of soothing and calming a frazzled mind!
Part of the mint family, lavender essential oil is one of the best oils for helping to beat insomnia, as well as for reducing stress so don’t limit its use to the bedroom!
Add a few drops to your bath or a diffuser, or add a few drops to a carrier oil such as coconut and gently massage into your pulse points before heading to dreamland.
Sandalwood
This beautiful essential oil has a rich woody scent and its calming properties are well-known! If you suffer with anxiety or find yourself wide awake and restless when it’s time to hit the sheets, then sandalwood can help to ease anxiety symptoms and put you in a more relaxed state.
Sandalwood can also help to reduce the amount of times you wake up during the night, so you wake up feeling relaxed and refreshed.
Sandalwood is actually a signature oil in our High Vibe Face Mist, so be sure to add an extra spritz to your pillow for a beautiful night’s rest!
Ylang Ylang
This lovely oil has a subtle, delicate scent that is pleasing to most and it has excellent antidepressant properties.
In fact, inhalation of this oil alone can help to strengthen the nervous system, and it will leave you feeling completely chilled out.
Try adding a few drops to a diffuser and allow its soothing aroma to fill your bedroom for an hour or two before you wind down for the night.
Citrus
Citrus oil is often popular in uplifting blends thanks to its ability to lift the spirits and help to wake you up for the day, but it’s just as excellent for helping to relax your mind and body, especially when paired with other soothing oils such as sandalwood.
Fortunately for you, our beautiful face mist also contains citrus essential oil, so you can use it for a boost in the morning and for relaxation in the evening!
When you sleep better, you feel better and you’ll be more motivated to put your phone away and take part in those IRL activities!
